Azure ML Workspace Creation

concept · part of Azure Machine Learning workspace

To create an Azure ML workspace, use the Azure portal: log in, select 'Create a resource', search for 'Machine learning', click on the Azure Machine Learning service, and click 'Create'. Then configure subscription, resource group, workspace name, region, and tags.

Tags are optional metadata key-value pairs that can be assigned to the workspace to categorize and manage Azure resources. They help with cost management, organizing resources by department or function, and filtering or tracking resource usage.

Choosing the correct Azure region minimizes latency and ensures compliance with data governance regulations. Select the region closest to your data or team for better performance and data residency adherence.

An Azure subscription is a billing and access control boundary for Azure services. When creating a workspace, you must select the subscription under which the workspace will be created.

A descriptive name for the workspace, e.g., 'CustomerChurnPredictionWorkspace', helps easily identify the project, especially when managing multiple workspaces.
